Create, Create, Create Every Day

One thing that has certainly improved my creativity and my artistic skills has been to create something every day. I either draw, letter, paint or make a card. Every day. I'm not perfect. Yet :) But I consistently see improvement. So on that note... Here's my little creation today.

So let's get the die-cutting done first. The bottom layers were cut with a Postage Stamp Die and a Stitched Frame Die. The flowers were die-cut from ink-smeared cardstock using the same colors I used on the rest of the card: Catherine Pooler's Polished, Stone Blue, Skylight and Rose Petals. The flowers are from Catherine Pooler's Ovals and Flowers Dies Set. Finally, I die-cut four sentiments from the Create Die using black cardstock. Then I glued these four sentiments together to create one thick die-cut. Now on to the top, white cardstock panel... I stamped the Oval Stamp with the four colors mentioned above to mimic an ombre effect. Then I stamped the Create sentiments in three of those colors with the Every Day stamp done in Midnight Ink. I used a fineliner to fill in the first word, just for the heck of it :) I glued the flowers on, popping up a few of them with Foam Dimensionals. I glued the Create Die-cut onto the panel, then accented it even more with Glossy Accents. Doesn't it look cool? I also applied some to a few of the flower centers. After layering my panels onto the card base, I finished the card with some Rhinestones.

See you next time :)
Have a great day!

Celebrate Spring with Mail Art

Welcome to my first Blog Hop with Amy's Inkin' Krew!

The theme for this hop is "Celebrate Spring" and will be celebrating with some more mail art! My previous posts on this fun art form can be seen HERE, HERE, and HERE :)

Now, I've used three stamp sets and a set of markers that I will feature today. But this is an Inspiration Post, so use some of the great stamp sets and coloring tools you already have :) All the images on my envelopes were first stamped with Basic Black Archival Stampin’ Pad and then colored in with Stampin' Write Markers. I drew in horizontal address lines just for reference. They aren't really necessary :) The following envelope was made with Stampin' Up's Hanging Gardens Stamp Set.

This next one was done with the Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Set. I used a Tombow Brush Pen to letter in the "happy mail."

And these two were done with the Flying Home Stamp Set. (All materials used are listed below).

Be sure and check out these other great "Celebrate Spring" posts by wonderful, creative women!

Live, Love, Sparkle

We still have a lot of "sparkle" here, with a few feet of snow and more snowfall to come :)

This card is made with Sunny Studio's Born to Sparkle Stamp Set and Sparkle Die.

It has a nice variety of nine sentiments to go with it; pretty good for a small and inexpensive stamp set!

So, first, I stamped a white panel with the stars and orbs. The orbs were done with Tsukineko's Delicata ink pad set in Golden Glitz and Silvery Shimmer. I used an assortment of Catherine Pooler's ink pads for the stars and added some Stampin' Up Rhinestones.

The "Live, Love" sentiment was stamped on a scrap of white card stock and punched out with a EK Tools Photo Punch. I attached it to the layer with Stampin' Dimensional foam pads. I die-cut the Sparkle Die using silver glitter card stock, as well as a couple die cuts using black cardstock. I glued the three pieces together, with the silver on top, of course. I wanted a thicker die cut, because I like the way it looks. I used a Sakura Silver Pen-Touch to outline the edge of the die and to hide the black edge. Then I glued the "Sparkle" to my panel.

Have a great day!
