DIY Wall Art for Your Craft Studio

Here is one of many creations that I choose to keep and mount on my walls :)

I buy my frames from thrift stores for just a few quarters each. I have a range of acrylic paints that I use to repaint the frames the color of my choice. The frames are usually easily detached from the glass, matting and mounting board for easier painting. Since the paint job tends to require two to three coats, I start prepping my frames before starting my art project. I draw many of my own images for framing, but today, I decided to use the adorable Crafting Forever Stamp Set by Stampin' Up. I chose the brushes and the pen images for the two frames I had prepped, along with one of the sentiments that came in the set. I stamped these using Catherine Pooler's Midnight Ink Pad onto white cardstock that I had already trimmed to fit the frames.

I colored the images with Tombow's Dual Brush Pens, and accented the details with Tombow's Mono Drawing Pens.

For shading, I used a darker or denser color. My favorite tool for shading, though, is Tombow’s Dual-Tip Brush Pen #N75 which is a light gray. For highlighting, I used Tombow’s Blending Pen to lighten. I also used Speedball’s Super Pigmented Acrylic White Ink for detail highlighting using a tiny brush.
